What we store

• An anonymous device token

  A random identifier we set in your browser so we know which couple you belong to. On its own it isn’t linked to your name or phone — we never ask for those. (If you buy Duet Plus, Stripe collects your email for the receipt; more on that below.)

• Your answers and guesses

  The option you pick for each question — daily or in a pack — and your guess of your partner’s pick. This is the game.

• Your streak and timezone

  A running count of days you’ve both played, and your timezone so the day rolls over at the right moment for you.

• Voice notes (encrypted)

  Voice notes are end-to-end encrypted on your device before they’re sent. We only ever hold the encrypted audio — which we can’t listen to — and only until your partner’s phone picks it up, then it’s deleted; anything undelivered is removed after 14 days. We also store each device’s public key so the two of you can set up that encryption.

• Your daily-reminder subscription (only if you turn it on)

  If you switch on the once-a-day reminder, your browser gives us a push subscription — an anonymous delivery address and keys — plus your timezone, so the nudge lands at a sensible hour. We use it only for that one reminder, and delete it when you turn reminders off or the address stops working.

• What you’ve unlocked (only if you go Plus or buy a pack)

  Which packs or subscription your couple has unlocked, your email address, and the reference IDs from our payment processor. We never see or store your card details — the whole payment happens on Stripe.

What we don’t

No passwords, no accounts to sign into. To play, we never ask for your name, email, or phone number. We don’t sell your data or share it with advertisers, and there are no third-party tracking pixels reading your answers.

Payments

If you subscribe to Duet Plus or buy a pack, checkout is handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers. We store what your couple unlocked and the email you used at checkout — for your receipt and so you can restore access on a new device. You can manage or cancel a subscription anytime from the Plus screen.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count page views in aggregate — how many people reach a page, not who. It builds no personal profile and never reads your answers.

Who can see your answers

Only your partner, and only after you’ve both submitted for that question. Nothing reveals until then. Your individual answers are held back until the round is complete.

How long we keep it

For as long as you keep playing. There’s no fixed expiry, but you can erase everything at any time, right here, and it’s gone for good. Stripe keeps its own record of any payment, as the law requires of payment processors.
